Board members Tom Saladyga, Deni Elliott, and Chris Chanlett staffed a GRWA table at the 35th annual E-Day at the WV State Capitol. Our board president Jenna Breeckner (on left) also serves as secretary of the WV Environmental Council and acted as the lead organizer of the event.

She joined us with Autumn Crowe to personally advocate to address water quality concerns with Sens. Jack David Woodrum and Vince Deeds. With Autumn’s legislative acumen on the details we got a good hearing from these representatives. Deni and Tom also spoke at length with Del. Ray Canterberry.

“The general turnout was encouraging. Jenna had invited many schools to participate creating an atmosphere of youthful enthusiasm about climate change and more local concerns. She placed our table at the center of the assemblage under the Rotunda with its magnificent murals, sculpture, and architectural detailing. We had a steady stream of interest in our booth, especially for the new buttons and big graphic map of the our watershed. Many interesting conversations proceeded. We got about ten new names on our mailing list.” — Chris Chanlett
