Group: vital information missing from pipeline permits

LOWELL — Opposition to the Mountain Valley Pipeline was fierce Tuesday night as about 50 people gathered in this Summers County community, claiming the proposed pipeline would be an environmental nightmare.

The meeting was hosted by West Virginia Rivers Coalition, Summers County Residents Against the Pipeline and Greenbrier River Watershed Association, to provide information on the impacts the proposed project may have on local residents and educate citizens on how to make effective comments to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.

For more than two hours, those in attendance learned EQT, the company proposing the pipeline, has not fully answered questions and filed incomplete applications with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection.
