Successful Stream Restoration in Logan county, WV

Downstream Strategies is finding signs of successful stream restoration in Logan County! Our monitoring shows the restoration sites are supporting new habitats filled with a variety of native vegetation and wildlife. We’ve found a bird’s nest in planted willow shrubs, an io moth caterpillar, and native partridge pea flowers—a favorite of bumblebees’—and willows along the riparian zone of the stream corridor.
